During my youth, I came across a story that made a lasting impression on my life.
The story is about a boy who tries to lift a considerably large stone embedded in the ground, in the center of the garden plot he is making. He tries several times but his puny arms cannot even move the stone. Perspiration streaks his face as he tries again and again.
Seeing his predicament, his father comes and asks him “You’ve been trying to lift that stone for some time now but to no avail. Are you sure you’ve already used all your resources?”
“Yes,” the boy answers.
“No, my son,” the father corrects him. “You have not yet asked for my help”.

I agree. Most of the time, we tend to think that we can do anything on our own. We need other people, and ultimately, we need Jesus in our lives.
